Novarad Recaps AAOS 2026: Showcasing VisAR for Spine Surgery
From hands-on demos to conversations with surgeons, AAOS 2026 was a strong week of collaboration and innovation in orthopedics.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting brought thousands of surgeons, researchers, and industry leaders together this year to explore the latest advancements in orthopedic care.
At AAOS 2026 in New Orleans, Novarad welcomed attendees to Booth 2801 to experience VisAR, our augmented reality surgical navigation platform designed to improve spatial understanding and procedural confidence in complex spine procedures.
Throughout the week, surgeons and clinical teams stopped by the booth to see firsthand how immersive 3D visualization can enhance surgical planning and intraoperative guidance.

Hands-On VisAR Demonstrations
One of the highlights of the show was the opportunity for surgeons and industry professionals to try VisAR themselves.
Using the headset, attendees were able to visualize patient-specific anatomy in 3D holographic form, allowing them to explore trajectories, anatomical relationships, and surgical approaches in a fully immersive environment.
Many surgeons commented on how intuitive the system felt and how quickly they were able to understand spatial relationships compared to traditional 2D imaging.
The demonstrations sparked thoughtful conversations about how augmented reality can support decision-making and surgical confidence in complex cases.

Connecting With the Orthopedic Community
AAOS continues to be one of the most important gatherings for orthopedic professionals, offering a space where clinicians, researchers, and innovators can exchange ideas and explore new technologies.
Throughout the event, the Novarad team had the opportunity to meet with surgeons, hospital leaders, and partners interested in the future of image-guided surgery and augmented reality navigation.
These conversations are critical in helping shape the future development of VisAR and ensuring that the technology continues to address real clinical needs.
